What are the documents which the UIDAI accepted as proof of identity and proof of address?
UIDAI process accepts 18 POI (Id) and 33 PoA (proof of address) documents. Click here for a list of valid documents nationwide. Common tests of identity and direction of election photo ID card, ration card, passport and driving license.
Photo ID cards like PAN card and Govt ID cards are acceptable as proof of identity. Address proof documents also include water, electricity and telephone bills for the last three months.
In case of not having common tests, above certificates issued photo identification by the senior official / Tehsildar on letterhead is also accepted as a point of interest. Certificate of Address having photo issued by MP or MLA / senior official / Tehsildar on letterhead or Village Panchayat head or equivalent authority (for rural areas) is accepted as valid PoA.
Even if someone in the family does not have their own valid documents, the resident may enroll if his / her name in the paper there right family. In this case, the head of household in the document should be entitled to be registered first with valid PoI and PoA document.
