Results of the annual High School Certificate Examination 2013 conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha, in March-April this year would be announced on Thursday, BSE president Satyakam Mishra said here on Tuesday.
Mishra said the results would be available in as many as six websites from 9 am on Thursday. “Arrangements have also been made to get the results through SMS mobile phones,” he said, adding that, due to paucity of time, the BSE is not printing result booklets this time as opposed to earlier practice.
He, however, made it clear that school headmasters have been instructed to download the results from the websites and keep a copy of them in the school for the benefit of students. Arrangements have also been made to provide marksheets and certificates within seven days of publication of results, he added.
While Mishra was making these arrangements, activists of the All-India DSO gheraoed the office protesting the BSE's decision to skip result booklet printing. The student leaders demanded that, along with Internet and SMS, the results in booklet form be also made available to the students.
"Most of the rural students cannot access computers and mobile phones. Electricity and Internet facilities are out of the reach of many," the leaders argued. They wondered that when the answer-sheets in this State are evaluated in candlelight, it was unfathomable how the BSE could think of publishing the results only on Internet and mobile phone.
The BSE, in a release, informed that the results could be seen on www.indiaresults.com, www.exametc.com, www.orissaresults.nic.in, www.bharatstudents.com, www.schools9.com, and www.bseorissa.in.
The results could also be obtained via SMS. Type in the message box of mobile phones OHSBroll number and send to 57333 or OR10roll number and send to 56767999 or ORI10roll number and send to 58888 or OR10roll number and send to 5676750 or OR10roll number and send to 56300.
