KSEEB Results 2012 | PU results 2012 | PU results by 4th week of May

The results of the II pre-university examination will be declared only in the fourth week of May after the Common Entrance Test (CET) is held. The results of the SSLC examination will be announced in the third week of the same month.

Traditionally, the II PU results are declared only after the CET concludes. As the entrance exam has been rescheduled for May 21 and 22, the II PU results would be announced in the fourth week of May, Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri told reporters on Thursday. The evaluation of II PU answer scripts is almost complete and the results can be expected between May 21 and 26, he said.

6 marks for SSLC students

There is some good news for students who wrote the SSLC examination. They are going to get six grace marks in mathematics. The Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) has decided to award the marks for the two complex questions in the said paper.

Kageri said the KSEEB is well within its right to award marks to the students in such matters and does not have to seek approval from the top brass. On the II PU question paper leaks, Kageri said the CID inquiry into it was still on.

Besides, the government has sought reports from the Chikmagalur deputy commissioner, police officers and the Department of Treasuries.

The State government has invited applications for the 1,756 vacant posts of pre-university lecturers and 3,500 high school teachers, Kageri said.

The last date for applying for the posts of PU lecturers and high school teachers is
May 15 and May 16 respectively.

Fifty per cent of the schools in the State have already received textbooks and uniforms, and the remaining schools will get them by the end of May. Kageri assured that the government will make sure that all schoolchildren get the necessary textbooks and uniforms when the schools reopen in June.

The minister has warned private schools against charging exorbitant fees. He has asked deputy commissioners to inform the government about such schools that they will not be spared, he said.

Kageri added that a committee had been formed to go into the issue of merging class eight with the higher primary classes. An appropriate decision would be taken when the committee submits its report.

The minister confirmed that there would be no centralised admission for I PU in the academic year 2012-13 as the software for the purpose was yet to be developed.
The Department of Pre-University Education (DPUE) had submitted a proposal for centralised admission to the government. The lack of sufficient progress on development of the required software, however, has hampered the initiative, Kageri said.

The minister hastened to add that the government was considering enabling students to apply online. Students, wishing to take admission to I PU, will be able to download application forms on the internet and submit them online.

A decision to this effect would be taken before the SSLC results are declared, Kageri explained.
